Gait belts and transfer belts provide assistance to the caregiver when transferring children and adults who are partially dependent, have some weight-bearing capacity, and are cooperative. Gait belts are designed to provide transfer assistance during bed to chair, chair to chair, or chair to mobility device transfers.
In addition, the gait belts also assist when repositioning residents in chairs, supporting residents during ambulation, and in some cases when guiding and controlling falls or assisting a resident after a fall. |
