How do I choose if the Large Rifton Special Needs Tricycle is right for me?
The Large Rifton Special Needs Tricycle is designed to build strength and coordination for a wide range of children with disabilities. This foot pedal special needs tricycle is designed to provide full support to riders with low tone needing trunk control.
 
What is the user cannot sit up on their own and has poor trunk control?
The Rifton Wrangler Special Needs Tricycle comes standard with a saddle seat with pelvic strap, padded backrest, and chest strap. If additional trunk support is needed, Rifton does offer the following:
  • Trunk support system is ideal for riders who have trouble remaining upright while seated. An optional headrest is available. Includes: padded backrest, butterfly harness, and two independent lateral supports.
  • An additional backrest pad has a security strap and buckle for additional support.
  • A headrest can be purchased with either a flat or contoured headpiece, and adjusts both horizontally and vertically for optimum positioning. The headrest attaches to the trunk support system, tool–free.

We also offer other seating and trunk support options for the tricycle including, bench seat, tractor seat, full padded back, lumbar pad, H-Harness and headrest.

How do I determine which size Rifton tricycle to purchase?
Refer to our Sizing Chart under the Specifications tab. You will need to focus on the user's inseam length (inside of leg to bottom of heel).
  • The Rifton Wrangler adaptive tricycle fits riders with an inseam of 25" - 35" and fits most riders from 10 years to adult.
If you are not sure on which size to choose, we recommend completing the Measurement Form and reviewing those measurements against the Sizing Chart. This will also help in selecting a tricycle that will allow for growing room as well.

I am looking for an adaptive tricycle that my child can use both outdoors, as well as indoors when the weather is bad?
The Rifton special needs tricycle have an accessory for a stationary stand. The stationary stand converts any Rifton Tricycle into a stationary trainer for pedaling practice or rainy day activity.
 
 
Is the tricycle shipped assmebled or do I have to assemble?
The Rifton special needs tricycles are shipped fully assembled to you and require minimal assembly on accessories. The tricycles do ship in a large box to their destinations.

The Small Rifton Tricycle is designed for children around 4 to 7 years. More importantly, it is for children with an inseam between 17-22" (42.5-55 cm).

The Medium Rifton Tricycle is designed for children around 7 to 12 years. More importantly, it is for children with an inseam between 22-28" (55-70 cm).

The Large Rifton Tricycle is designed for adolescents 10 years to Adulthood. More importantly, it is for children with an inseam between 25-35" (62.5-87.5 cm).

The Small Rifton Tricycle allows your child to be properly supported while participating in an activity enjoyed by so many children. The Adjustable Loop Handlebar can be rotated to meet your child's preferred hand position. The Small Rifton has a seat belt and a trunk support with belt that helps to keep your child's upper body in alignment. This helps them focus on pedaling and steering. And the footplates with straps helps keep their feet in place too.
