    Details

The new revised version of the ABLLS™ includes many new task items that were not included in the previous edition. There are numerous changes in the descriptions and criterion for individual task items, as well as in the sequencing of many task items. An invaluable resource, the ABLLS-R is an assessment, curriculum guide and skills tracking system for children with language delays.

The assessment enables you to identify a young learner's skills and deficits in order to establish a baseline and structure an IEP. It contains a task analysis of the many skills crucial to successful communication and to learning from everyday experiences. The first book in this two-book package is

The ABLLS-R Guide that contains scoring instructions and information on how to complete the skills tracking information contained in the assessment. The Guide also presents strategies that enable parents, educators and professionals to use the information obtained from the completed assessment to develop an effective Individualized Education Program that is tailored to each student’s unique needs.

The Protocol provides criterion-referenced information regarding a child's current skills, along with a curriculum that can serve as the basis for the selection of educational objectives. A set of grids is also included to provide a skills tracking system that allows parents and professionals to document a child’s progress and their acquisition of critical skills. This bestseller is a marvelous resource for anyone in need of a concrete tool to assess current critical skills and to aid in the acquisition of new ones in order to meet every child’s individualized program needs.

The Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills- Revised (The ABLLS™-R) is an assessment, curriculum guide, and skills tracking system for children with language delays. It is based on the science of Applied Behavioral Analysis with Skinner's theory of Verbal Behavior along with research by Dr. Partington and includes 25 repertoire areas covering 544 skills.

The ABLLS™-R Protocol and The ABLLS™-R Guide are two books in a series of publications from Behavior Analysts, Inc., that can help parents and educators with the process of identifying specific skills that should be the focus of intervention for a child with language delays.

If you are ordering the ABLLS™-R Protocol for the first time, you must first purchase the ABLLS™-R Combo Set (which includes the ABLLS™-R Guide & Protocol). This policy is necessary because of the substantial changes in tasks, criterion and sequences.

*Note that this is a 2 booklet set that comes with one protocol already included. Additional protocols are available to registered buyers of the complete ABLLS-R set.

What is the difference between ABLLS and VB-MAPP?
The Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills (ABLLS) is a task analysis that provides you with criterion referenced information regarding your child's current skills and provides a curriculum that serves as the basis to guide your programming.

The Verbal Behaviour Milestones Assessment and Placement Program (VBMAPP) identifies a child's skills as compared to his/her typically developing peers to determine programming. The VB-MAPP has 5 components which assess milestones across developmental level, barriers to your child's learning, the educational setting most effective for your child, task analysis of current skills as well as recommendations for program development.
