This is an excellent toy for small children. It can help your child learn colors, learn shapes, learn to count, and learn to sort. When I bought this toy, I hesitated because I thought it was so simple that my daughter would figure it out and then move on to something else. But I was wrong. My daughter enjoys putting the pieces onto the correct pegs, or sometimes putting them on the wrong pegs, then looking at me to see my reaction. She also enjoys setting them up on their sides and knocking them down like dominos. She stacks them like blocks and sorts them on the floor by color. She grabs a container of some kind and fills and dumps. She counts them and identifies their colors. I love it! Review by Rebecca / (Posted on 8/26/2013)
My daughter is two and she loves it! We use it to match colors right now, but it will be helpful for counting, too. Very durable. One of those simple but brilliant toys. Review by D. Gelke / (Posted on 8/26/2013)
My two-year old loves this toy! I mix up all the pieces and put them on the wrong posts and she takes great delight in putting them all back where they're supposed to go. This set is great for teaching/reinforcing colors, shapes and numbers. It's made out of sturdy wood and the pieces are easy for little hands to take off and put on. My only regret is that I didn't get this sooner. It's recommended for 2 years and up but I think with supervision it could be introduced from 12-15 months on. By the way, I ordered this with the Beginner Pattern Blocks, the Geometric Stacker, and the Lauri Pegboard. This stack and sort board and the beginner pattern blocks are definitely my daughter's overall favorites so far. Review by Unknown / (Posted on 8/26/2013)
Perfect for two year olds. They love the stacking, colors, shapes and counting. Review by Kaye Chavinson / (Posted on 8/26/2013)
At 27 months, it's hard to get children to sit still, but my son and his friend will sit and play with this, faking us out by pretending to put the block on the wrong peg, then switching to the right one, dropping it on, and looking up to us for approval. We name a color or a shape & ask them to point to the correct stack of blocks and say the word. Of course, his favorite part is holding it up high and turning it over to dump the blocks all over the floor and slide them around like knock hockey... Review by L. Cullen / (Posted on 8/26/2013)
Got this for my almost-four-year-old son, who has non-verbal autism. It is helping him learn colors already, and will aid in shapes and counting later. Nice, quality wooden toy/learning tool. Review by MLL / (Posted on 8/26/2013)
Great toy for 12 - 24 month range. My daughter (17 months) loves taking them off and replacing them. Review by A. Briney / (Posted on 8/26/2013)
